Firstly, what is Porchlight?
It’s a charity which helps homeless and vulnerable people in Kent and the South East. Last year the charity supported more than 5000 people across the county.
As a new property development company based in Chislehurst and currently creating new homes in Tonbridge and Borough Green, Watermark Homes wanted to support a local charity which helps not only to tackle homelessness but actively works towards preventing it. Porchlight help individuals to ‘play an active role in their local community and fulfil their potential’. They do this by offering services, support, advice, guidance, education and training, thereby enabling people ‘to live independently in the future’. You can find out more about what Porchlight do on their website.
How have Watermark Homes helped?
This Christmas, instead of printing and posting company Christmas cards, we decided to make a donation to Porchlight. The donation will allow the charity to support more people who are homeless. This involves giving them safe and secure places to call home, and helping them to rebuild their lives and move towards a happier, more independent future.
“We’re really grateful for the support of Watermark Homes,” says Porchlight’s Chris Thomas. “Generous donations like theirs provide more opportunities for some of society’s most vulnerable people.”
